First the Fiat 500, then rumors of the Mini and now VW India’s MD has said they might consider the new Beetle for us: it’s raining cute cars!
Makham Dhalivaal, MD, VW passenger cars India didn’t state a time frame for the Beetle, but did say “It could be in the medium term.†If VW does approve of selling the Beetle here, it will probably take the CBU route, making the car indecently expensive, but knowing the love we have for Beetles, it will probably sell well. We welcome any car that doesn’t give in to the requirements of more space, more efficiency and less style – even we need a little relief from the usual automotive fare every once in a while, and we can think of no better way than a Beetle for an automotive style statement – except maybe a Cinquecento. Or a Mini.
