VW to auction the new Passat and donate proceeds to WWF

Volkswagen will auction the new Passat during the IPL tournament and donate its proceeds to the World Wide Fund (WWF)-India. The auction will be conducted online, starting April 25, 2011 for ten days and be routed through the IPL official website to eBay for the transaction. The winner of the auction will be given the car in a ceremony just before the start of the finals of the tournament.

The car has the signatures the team captains on its bonnet. The car will also come with an autographed cricket bat. commenting on the auction, Mr. Lutz Kothe, Head of Marketing and PR, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt Ltd said, “We chose to auction our newest product, the All-new Passat and donate its proceeds to an organization like the WWF which is dedicated to conserving the environment i.e. also in line with our Think Blue campaign.”
