Volkswagen India today announced the appointment of Volkswagen Cochin as its authorized dealer in Cochin. Mr. Joerg Mueller, President and Managing Director, Volkswagen Group India said, “This partnership is in line with our strategy to extend Volkswagen’s reach in the country. We see a growing demand for our cars and this step is towards a greater pan-India presence and easier accessibility to customers.â€
The Volkswagen Cochin showroom is spread over an area of 7,500 sq. ft. It is located at NH bypass, Kannadikadu Maradu. The showroom promises a premium buying experience to its customers. Additionally, Volkswagen Cochin is also setting up a service facility equipped with tools and equipment capable of servicing 40 cars per day. The facility will be ready by October 2008.
Volkswagen currently operates franchises in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Ludhiana, and now adds Cochin. In the year 2008 Volkswagen aims to operate 15 outlets in India and will soon finalise further network partners. The company is aiming to open around 30 outlets in India by the end of 2009.
