> Volkswagen Group strengthens its service footprint with the inauguration of its third Regional Distribution Centre in India
> Will service the VW family which comprises of Skoda, Audi, Porsche and Lamborghini
> This newly opened RDC in Maharashtra is an integral part of the network's strategy under VW’s Depot Network Development Project
Volkswagen Group Sales India announced that it opened its doors to their new Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) in Chakan, Pune.
With its strategic location, this RDC will significantly contribute towards reducing the current lead-time in providing genuine parts to the dealers across the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Company officials added that this state-of-the-art facility is embedded within the premises of Volkswagen's Pune Plant and spans over 25,000 square-metres. Since it has been designed with inputs from Volkswagen AG worldwide, it complies with the latest and highest global standards of VW.
During the initial stages, the Chakan RDC will manage Volkswagen India’s export business across the world. But from early next year, this site will begin servicing VW Group’s India dealerships across the western board. They promise one-day delivery of genuine parts, which in-turn ensures higher customer satisfaction. This RDC will also be supplying components to its parts distribution centres (PDC) located in the north and south of India.
Going forth, VW India believes this RDC will serve as an important milestone for the brand since it ties in with their intent to emerge as a stronger player in the country.
