Owners of certain VW and Audi models in North America will need to get their vehicles checked as the Volkswagen Group has announced that it is recalling around 3.34 lakh cars. The brand, in fact, has undertaken three separate recalls in the US and Canada over fuel leaks with different causes.
Although there is a possibility that the fuel leaks could lead to a risk of fire, there have been no incidents reported yet. Among the affected lot, there’s petrol-powered versions of the Audi Q5 (2009-2012), Q7 (2007-2012), A6/A7 (2012-2013) as well as VW Golf, GTI, Audi A3 and A3 Cabriolet models. Around 83 per cent of the vehicles recalled are registered in the US.
VW is already at work, notifying owners of the affected vehicles and carrying out the recall process and repairs free of charge.
