The Volvo XC40 will make its debut sometime next month and ahead of its arrival, a teaser image has surfaced online. The XC40 is Volvo's rival to the Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q2, Jaguar E-Pace and the BMW X1.
A teaser image for the Volvo XC40 has been leaked ahead of its expected debut sometime next month. This is the new entry-level crossover from the Swedish automaker and will take on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q2 and the BMW X1 as well as the Jaguar E-Pace.
As expected, the XC40 will look like a smaller version of the XC60, as well as the much larger XC90. These teaser images show the rear of the car and it gets the same oddly-shaped vertical LED tail lamps which are one of the signature elements of Volvo XC range. A myriad of spy shots that we have been publishing also give us an idea about the XC40’s size and proportions.
Technical details are not available at this moment, but we expect that it will share its engine options with the V40 and V40 Cross Country. What’s more, it is almost certain that the XC40 is coming to India with local assembly at their upcoming plant in Karnataka. Here too, it will take on the GLA and BMW X1.
