Ahead of its expected debut later this year, the interiors of the Volvo XC40 have been spied. Although the badges have been camouflaged, the design elements and layout clearly indicate that this is the upcoming XC40 crossover.
There are all the bits to call it a Volvo cabin right from the steering wheel and gear knob, all the way to the minimalistic dashboard which is dominated by a massive touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard may be camouflaged but we can clearly tell the colour combination across the entire interiors is a grey-black combination.
The Volvo XC40 is a new mid-level crossover from the Swedish automaker and is being brought in to take on the likes of the BMW X3, Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC. This vehicle was showcased as a concept car last year and is their competitor for a segment where they have never had a presence before. However, this will not be their entry-level vehicle as the company has indicated (rather let slip) that they are working on a 20 series range of vehicles to take on the Audi Q2, Mercedes-Benz GLA and the BMW X1. Â
