A Cross Country version of the Volvo V90 wagon has been spotted testing in Europe. As the name suggests, this is Volvo’s candidate into the burgeoning global crossover market which is currently dominated by a variety of European players.
The pictures reveal that the Chinese owned Swedish automaker has gone for taller wheels, raised suspension but with all the good looks that we have come to know from the S90 sedan and V90 wagon. It is expected to replace the XC70 in their range and will make its global debut sometime next year.
It will be underpinned by the same platform as the other ‘90’ moniker vehicles so expect the same set of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines as well as the AWD option on specific variants. Given the popularity of crossovers, this seems like a logical step forward for Volvo in terms of volume models.
For India, it has already announced that the S90 will be launched this year, so we can expect the this model to come India too whenever Volvo launches it globally.
