Volvo will launch a petrol variant of the V40 Cross Country for the Indian market tomorrow. It will be their new base petrol model and more importantly their entry into the sub Rs 30 lakh segment where they aim to garner volumes.
The Volvo V40 Cross Country Petrol variant is powered by a four-cylinder direct injection turbo petrol engine which comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Standard safety features are expected to include front, curtain and knee airbags, ABS+EBD, Traction Control, ESP and City Safety Braking.
It will also get cruise control, park assist system, and leather seats with ventilation function, panoramic sun roof, rear parking sensors, rear parking cameras and an eight-inch TFT screen based infotainment system that provides the provision to switch between three driving modes – Elegance, Eco and Performance.
We had revealed to you last month that Volvo India had made plans for this year to enter the sub Rs 30 lakh segment and this petrol variant of the V40 Cross Country would be the first model in this regard. It will be followed later this year by the standard V40 crossover.
