Volvo unveils S90 R-Design

Volvo has revealed the sporty R-Design trim of the India-bound S90 sedan. The sedan, along with the V90 estate get performance oriented updates both in terms of aesthetics and mechanicals.

Volvo says that the S90 and V90 get an advanced sport chassis that delivers an energetic, road-hugging drive.  In terms of styling, there is a new front-end spoiler integrated with fog lights, a different grille, matte black diamond-cut wheels and piano black inserts both at the front and back.  Inside as well it has sporty styling cues with unique steering wheel, contoured seats and interior illumination package.

The performance details of the S90 R-Design have not been confirmed yet. We expect those to be announced in the international markets, along with the pricing, in the next quarter. The R-Design will be the top-of-the-line trim for the S90 and hence will be offered in India at the time of the launch. Volvo plans to introduce the S90 here as a CBU by the end of the year. We can expect this sedan to be priced in the range of Rs 60 lakh to Rs 70 lakh, slightly above the Mercedes E-Class and BMW 5 Series.
