Volvo Auto India firmed up plans for the launch of its latest offering Volvo XC60 on the 24th of November this year. Speaking on the occasion was Paul de Voijs, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India. He said, "We believe in innovating for life and Volvo XC60 bears testimony to our commitment. It is essential to establish the differentiator in one’s offering, the XC60 will not only redefine our technological DNA, but will also form an integral part of our volume expansion strategy for India going forward."
Volvo XC60 offers the discerning compact luxury SUV customer - technological innovations and modern Scandinavian design. The XC60 will be packed in with some technological innovations like a Laser and Camera assisted Automatic Braking (City Safety). The system will use the laser and the camera technology automatically to mitigate a collision if the driver does not respond in time. Volvo XC60 will mark the Swedish car company's foray into the compact luxury SUV segment
The Volvo XC60 being a complete CBU, we expect it to have AWD as a standard fitment. All-Wheel Drive is an electronically controlled system that distributes engine power between the front and rear wheels quickly and automatically, depending on which wheel pair (front or rear wheels) has the best grip at the moment. The Volvo XC60 being a notch lower than the Volvo XC90 will compete with the likes of Nissan X-Trail, Freelander 2, Mitsubishi Montero and the Audi Q5. The Volvo could have an upper hand here, considering all the bells and whistles it comes loaded with and with the Volvo badge.
