Volvo has released elementary information and pictures of the S90 sedan a month ahead of its Detroit unveiling. We will bring you the first look of the new car once the engine specs and rest of the details are out and till then here is a closer look at the S90 sedan through the photo gallery.
The Volvo S90 sedan is based on the same Scalable Product Architecture of the XC90, with a similar design philosophy as that of the SUV.
At the front is the large shiny grille and the T-shaped DRLs, which we see on the SUV as well. The rear is also pretty and unlike anything we have seen before.
The sedan will use all the Volvo’s safety features including the updated semi-autonomous driving that takes corrective steps to keep the car in lane till 130kmph.
The cabin also is similar to that of the XC90; however, the Swedish carmaker has used more warm colours and wooden inserts to make it look luxurious.
The large touch-screen is part of the infotainment system which has all the necessary functions, along with the Apple CarPlay and Android connectivity for easier interface.
Volvo has confirmed that the T8 engine with plug-in hybrid making 407bhp will be part of the engine lineup. Rest of the engine details are expected close to the unveiling in January.
The Volvo S90 will rival the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Jaguar XF in the luxury sedan segment. It will be launched in India later next year via the CBU route.
