Volvo S60 Polestar launched in India at Rs 52.50 lakh

The Volvo S60 Polestar has been launched in the Indian market and has been priced at Rs 52.50 lakh (Introductory ex-showroom Delhi). This is the first high performance car from the Swedish marque and has been introduced to takes on the likes of AMG from Mercedes-Benz, S from Audi and M power from BMW. 

Firstly, the S60 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-charged and super-charged petrol mill producing 367bhp/470Nm of torque with power going to all wheels via an eight-speed AT and AWD system. Its top speed is limited to 250kmph, but it hits the 100kmph mark in just 4.7 seconds! The chassis has been fettled by technicians from Gothenburg for improved handling and performance to match the pedigree of the car.

The exterior design is defined by the signature Polestar blue paint job, sporty wheels and of course a rear-spoiler as well a front spoiler to generate downforce and keep the car planted on the ground. The cabin is a top-of-the-line trim and includes climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, and electrically adjustable leather seats. To show that the car is special, it gets Polestar badging all around with the main one being the blue badge at the right rear.

This being a Volvo and sporty one too, it gets a whole plethora of safety features including a plethora of airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability programme and traction control to keep you going while pushing the car to its ragged edge.

 The Volvo S60 Polestar takes on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG in the Indian market which is similar in terms of performance and positioning. The arrival of Polestar now completes the entry of all European manufacturers in the performance vehicles segment in the Indian market.
