Volvo cars UK has launched a new R-Design version of its XC-90 with updated visual and feature upgrades. It has been priced at £49,785 (Rs 49.96 lakh). The variants that wear the R-design badge have the sportiest makeover and usually have design and equipment upgrades to lend a sporty look.
Externally, the R-Design is characterised by the 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and glossy black mesh front grille. Interior upgrades include sporty leather seats, a 12.3-inch TFT information display, front passenger seat with memory function, sports pedals and black headlining.
R-Design models also feature Drive Mode settings and adjustable steering force, which allows drivers to choose between different settings for the engine, transmission, steering and the optional air suspension.
Nick Connor, Managing Director of Volvo Car UK, said, “The launch of the XC90 R-Design makes our premium seven-seat SUV even more distinctive and dynamic than before. Its sportier looks certainly make it stand out on the road, and its extra equipment ensures that the interior is as luxurious as it is stunning.”
Volvo cars rolled in the Momentum and Inscription versions of the XC90 a few months ago and it’s highly unlikely that the company could introduce the R-design immediately considering only the Inscription is currently available.
