Volvo has launched its new mid-size SUV the XC60 today. The XC60 gets a 2.4-litre five-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 205bhp of power and 420Nm of torque. The Volvo XC60 costs Rs 39.5 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 41.41lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai with octroi). Volvo is known for its safety and the Swedish company claims that the XC60 is the safest Volvo among the others that are currently sold in India.
The Volvo XC60 is a CBU and will come with the fourth-generation Haldex clutch to transmit power to the rear wheels, when it senses loss of traction on the front wheels. This same system is used in the Skoda Superb V6, Skoda Yeti and the Land Rover Freelander 2. It will come with three active chassis modes - Comfort, Sport and Advanced. The other feature is the turn with steering headlamps which will increase the visibility at night.
The Volvo XC60 will be available in nine colour shades and the interiors come with four upholstery colours. If the XC60 is booked now, it gets a discount of 60% thanks to Reliance Insurance which believes the car has a lot of features to keep it safe. Read our first impressions on the XC60!
