As a part of its plans to strengthen and expand its presence in India, the Swedish car manufacturer, Volvo, has inaugurated its National Parts warehouse in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. The warehouse, located on the outskirts of Mumbai, has been set up in alliance with logistics solutions provider DSV. With the inauguration of the new National parts warehouse, the waiting period for the customers will come down considerably.
The company is expected to stock up the spares in the new spare parts warehouse depending on the total number of cars that it has sold in India. Moreover, Charles Frump, Volvo Car India managing director stated that the new facility will help the company provide world-class customer service and support as it aims at doubling their segment share by 2020.
Moving forward, the company is planning to further develop electric and hybrid powertrains and also end development of new generation diesel engines. By 2025, the company aims at atleast 50 per cent of its sales to come from electric vehicle sales.
