- XC40 Momentum and Inscription trims launched
- R-Design gets pricier
- Starting price remains the same at Rs 39.9 lakh
Volvo had launched their entry-level SUV, the XC40 R-Design, on 4 July, earlier this month, for a price tag of Rs 39.9 lakh. In less than two weeks of its launch, the first batch of 200 units of the XC40 have been sold out, which has prompted Volvo to launch more variants of the XC40.
Volvo has launched the entry-level trim called Momentum for a price tag of Rs 39.9 lakh ex-showroom, India. The R-Design has now become the mid-level variant and gets a new price tag of Rs 42.9 lakh while the top-spec Inscription is priced at Rs 43.9 lakh.Â
The R-Design is already quite loaded with the 9-inch portrait touchscreen, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio unit, electric seats in the front, ventilated seats and the leather upholstery along with the panoramic sunroof and electric tail-gate. The Inscription gets a fancier grille, a fancier alloy wheel design, more chrome on the outside, driftwood inlays in the cabin, and electrically foldable rear seats as well.
The Momentum loses on the fancier stuff but gets infotainment system, standard cruise control, panoramic sunroof and the full safety net. The powertrain comprising of the 187bhp diesel engine and eight-speed automatic gearbox with all-wheel drive remains standard.
Deliveries of the new trims are expected to start from August and you can book one for yourself for a booking amount of Rs 2 lakh at the nearest dealership. The XC40 competes against the likes of the BMW X1, the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the Audi Q3 in the entry-level luxury SUV segment.
