Volkswagen India has launched the top-of-the-line Highline Plus variant of the Vento at Rs 10.84 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). As the ‘Plus’ badging suggests, the new trim packs in additional features and cosmetic upgrades like full LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights and a rear-view camera.
The Highline Plus trim is available only with a manual 1.6 petrol powertrain. But if it's petrol automatic you want, then your only option is to go for the 1.2-litre engine powered Highline plus trim. Happily enough for us, the diesel Vento can be availed of in the Highline Plus trim with both manual and automatic gearboxes. Additional features in the Highline Plus over and above the Highline trim includes – turn indicators on the OVRM, stylish Zirconia alloy wheels, a new lighting signature on the tail lamps complements the LED treatment upfront.
On the inside, the Highline Plus packs in new air conditioning vents for the rear passengers, an auto-dimming IRVM, automatic rain-sensing wipers, cooled glove box and a multi-function steering wheel. Most of the interior design elements and features are carried over from the existing Vento Highline including interior colour schemes (Cloud Titanschwarz and Walnut Desert Beige). The Highline Plus trim has also borrowed several features from the Highline trim, like seat upholstery, cruise control, a dead-pedal and an external boot release, to name a few. ABS and dual front airbags come as standard fitment.
We had spotted the new Vento trim in December last year in Pune. The mechanicals remains the same. Price wise, the Highline Plus comes at an additional cost of Rs 90,000 – 92,000 over the Highline, across all the variants. The prices for the Vento Highline Plus are as follow – (ex-showroom Mumbai)
