Volkswagen introduces Vento with a mildly refreshed 1.5-litre diesel engine which produces slightly better power output figures than the older model. This time around, the Vento gets the similar engine which currently serves the Ameo and the recently launched Skoda Rapid in the country. As expected, the changes are limited to mild diesel engine upgrade, while the design fundamentals remain the same.
The diesel version of Volkswagen Vento continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre TDI engine which now puts out 108bhp and 250Nm of torque, unlike the older version which generated 103bhp and 250Nm of torque. The diesel version continues to be offered in five-speed manual and 7-speed DSG options with claimed fuel efficiency figures of 22.27kmpl and 22.15kmpl respectively. In terms of features, the Highline variant now offers new touchscreen infotainment system, auto-dimming IRVM and automatic rain sensing wipers.
Volkswagen Vento will a mild power upgrade in diesel continues to be offered at existing prices. The base Trendline variant starts at Rs 9.46 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). Moreover, the company has also added a new Silk Blue colour shade option in addition to the current colour options in the Vento.
