Volkswagen has announced that the new Vento facelift will be launched in India on June 23. Featuring a host of cosmetic and technological updates, the new Vento was unveiled in Russia less than a month ago.
The front bumper of the new Vento has been redesigned, while the chrome grille with three vertical slats draws inspiration from the Jetta. A chrome strip runs the entire length of the redesigned lower bumper, which also integrates horizontal fog lamps and cornering lights. The rear of the new Vento also gets a redesigned bumper and new tail lamps. Being just a mid-cycle facelift, the new Vento continues with the same overall body structure, though it does get a lot of chrome trim to give it a premium look.Volkswagen had comprehensively upgraded the interior of the Vento in its previous facelift, and hence the overall layout of this facelift has been left untouched. Additional equipment includes cruise control, cooled glovebox, a dead pedal, external boot release and auto-folding mirrors.
As the upgrades in the new Vento aren’t very significant, we can expect the facelift to retail in the same price bracket as the current model. The Vento competes with other C-segment sedans like the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, Ford Fiesta and the Fiat Linea.
