The updated Volkswagen Vento has been launched in India with prices starting at Rs 8.76 lakhs. This updated Vento range comprises two variants across three engine options and six colour options.Â
Exterior changes, which are most significant for the sedan, comprise a new grille, new front and rear bumpers and an updated design for the alloy wheels. The cabin remains unchanged and on top-of-the-line models you get touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, reverse camera dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and an all-black colour scheme.
The Volkswagen Vento is being offered with a 1.6-litre petrol engine producing 103bhp/153Nm as well as a 1.5-litre diesel that produces 108bhp/250Nm. The 1.6-litre engine is only offered with a five-speed manual while the diesel can also be had with a seven-speed DSG. You also get a 1.2-litre turbo petrol producing 103bhp/175Nm. This engine is mated to the seven-speed DSG.Â
The Volkswagen Vento is a rival for the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid and the Nissan Sunny in the C-segment of the Indian car market.
