Volkswagen has made it official that it will be showcasing a new facelifted version of the Cross Polo at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The German carmaker will also be bringing in the Polo Blue Motion and Blue GT, to complement the updated Polo lineup.
The Cross Polo is more of a rugged version based on the standard Polo. The former gets a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels, revised front and rear bumper, roof rails and plastic body cladding all around the lower half of the car. Inside, the updated model gets a new steering wheel, new upholstery and revised gear knob and handbrake lever.
In Germany, the Cross Polo can be had with a choice of two TDI diesel and one TSI petrol engine options. However, Volkswagen India is only offering the car with a 1.2-litre three cylinder TDI engine. Furthermore, the European-spec model also benefits from increased ride height – something which the India-spec Cross Polo again, doesn’t come with.
The updated Polo range will be showcased at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. While we do not expect the Polo Blue Motion and the Blue GT to come to India anytime soon, we do hope Volkswagen India brings the updated Cross Polo to India, soon after its global debut.
