The upcoming long wheelbase form of the Volkswagen Tiguan has been caught on test again, this time in all its glory. The crossover, in fact, can be seen fully undisguised in these pictures taken from a dealer presentation in China.
The long wheelbase Tiguan is expected to be launched in China during the first quarter of 2017. Looking at the pictures, it seems VW has extended the standard Tiguan’s wheelbase by a fair bit. As a result, the rear door is longer and the rear quarter glass is bigger in size as well. This long wheelbase version is expected to have a seven-seat configuration.
The Tiguan LWB will also be sold in the US, sometime next year. When launched, the car is likely to be called Tiguan L or Tiguan XL. Now although India will not be getting this very model, Volkswagen has confirmed that the standard 5-seater Tiguan will be introduced as a locally assembled vehicle. It will compete with the recently introduced Hyundai Tucson.
