Reports indicate that the German car manufacturer Volkswagen has been working on developing the Tiguan Coupe, which might be introduced sometime in 2018. The vehicle is expected to get styling cues from the Cross Coupe GTE concept. The top-spec range-topping R variant is powered by a 2.0-litre engine which generates about 295bhp of power and 380Nm of torque.
The new model is expected to offer more space and an optional third-row seating layout. The vehicle gets premium upholstery and more utilitarian features. Like its older siblings the vehicle will get multiple airbags and ABS with EBD as standard along with a list of other safety equipment. Post launch the vehicle will compete against the likes of the BMW X2 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.
More details about the vehicle will be known in the days to come. Although there is no confirmation for India launch for now, if introduced internationally next year we might get it sometime in 2019.
