German car giant Volkswagen has announced that it will launch its new full-size SUV for China soon. The model in question is called the Teramont and it will arrive in the Chinese car market on March 22.
First unveiled in November 2016, the Teramont is made in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture. Underneath the large body, the Teramont will be offered with upto three engine options – a 2-litre TFSI with 186bhp or 220bhp and a 2.5-litre V6 developing 299bhp and 500Nm. While the TFSI engines will be locally made, the V6 will be imported from Germany. All cars will feature a 7-speed DSG and VW’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system.
When launched, the Teramont will be positioned between the locally-made Tiguan L and the Touareg which is a full import.
