Volkswagen India was considering launching a Highline Plus variant of the Polo like the Vento. Dealers have now started accepting bookings for this new trim at Rs 10,000.
The new Polo Highline Plus will be positioned over the current Highline trim and below the GT variants of the Polo. The only difference between the two trims remains that the Highline Plus gets bigger 16-inch alloy wheels as against the 15-inch wheels seen on the Highline. All the other features including a reverse camera and upgraded touch screen music system are already a part of the package in both versions.
The engine options remain the same for both the Highline and Highline Plus trims. The petrol model comes powered by a 74bhp 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine, while the oil-burner gets an 89bhp 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine. Transmission options remain the same with a five-speed manual gearbox doing the duty.
Official prices of this new Polo trim will be out soon, while it is speculated that this new Highline Plus trim will cost Rs 26,000 more than the Highline. Volkswagen India is expected to add a similar variant in the Ameo line-up too. But we will have to wait for an official confirmation on that.
