Volkswagen India sold 4,577 units in March 2015 as compared to 3,739 units in the corresponding period last year recording a 22 per cent increase in sales. The Volkswagen Polo hatchback made a significant contribution to the increase in sales in March this year.
The company also had successful launches in the form of the new 2015 Jetta and Limited Edition Vento Magnific. Commenting on the numbers, Michael Mayer, director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, said “We are happy to note the significant hike in sales in March this year and further aim to continue with the upward trend for rest of the year.”
He added that the increase in sales showed that car buyers in India were increasingly appreciative of the key attributes of their cars, which are best-in-class safety, build quality and driving dynamics.
