Volkswagen ended the year 2010 with sales of 32, 627 unit vehicles across India. This showed a sales growth of over 974 per cent when compared to the same period last year (January-December 2009 – 3039 units were sold). 5772 unit vehicles were sold in the month of December itself.
Commenting on the record sales, Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of Board, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said "We are extremely delighted with the response received for our products. This reflects the growing customer confidence towards the Volkswagen carline."
The Volkswagen Polo (read road test here)and the Vento (read road test here) Â were the frontrunners in the sales growth the company witnessed this year. By establishing 70 dealerships across the country, Volkswagen will be looking at not only increasing their sales figures but also to a similar performance by the end of next year.
