Sometime ago, Volkswagen confirmed that the production of the new Polo will commence in the month of June 2017. Now the manufacturers have released a teaser video of the new car which will make a debut later this year.
The teaser video shows four previous generations of the Polo and concludes with a teasing silhouette of the new vehicle. This is the second attempt from the manufacturers to tease the car, the first being a teaser video of the camouflaged Polo which was released earlier last month. The previous video featured a fully camouflaged car, revealing only the halogen headlamps and chrome garnished alloy wheels.
That being said, the new Polo has already been spotted without any camouflage near the Volkswagen headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany.
The new vehicle will be based on the new MQB platform to make the car lighter than before and also allow space for a pretty roomy cabin on the inside. The 2018 Polo will also expand in terms of dimensions, however, it will still stay under four meters in length when it hits the Indian shores i.e later next year.
When launched in India the new Polo will compete against the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Fiat Punto and the Honda Jazz.
