Zoomcar has announced the launch of Volkswagen Polo on their shared subscription platform. The first lot of Volkswagen Polo cars, comprising of 200 vehicles were completely subscribed within 48 hours of the announcement, claims the Bengaluru based company. Interestingly, the number of Polos subscribed on the shared platform surpassed the total number of cars sold by the biggest dealer in the same period.
The Polo in the Zoomcar portfolio is primarily targeted towards the Gen Y and Gen Zs. This generation believes in expressing their unique identity and breaking away from the primitive mould, says Zoomcar. So the Polo comes as a viable car for a generation which clearly values the concept of shared subscription to offset their monthly subscription, an offering that is a first of its kind in India.
Within only 11 months of entering the shared subscription segment, ZAP Subscribe by Zoomcar has managed to dominate the subscription market. With shared subscription around, people are now more comfortable in choosing premium experiences over utility as the hassle and remorse of ownership are out of the equation.
Commenting on the occasion, Greg Moran, co-founder and CEO, Zoomcar, said, “We have partnered with Volkswagen to grow our offering of premium category vehicles. To the same end, we are glad to inform that we have completed the subscription of all the Polo cars currently on the platform, within only 48 hours of the announcement. The feat further validates the changing pulse of the nation that prioritises accessibility over hassled ownership. It is high on our agenda to keep delivering what our customers prefer on India’s only shared subscription platform.’
