Volkswagen seems to be one of the busier auto manufacturers lately with the recent introduction of the Cross Polo and the new diesel sibling of the GT TSI. But, it looks like the revamping does not end, as a possible facelift for the current Polo is being lined up by VW which will likely make its entry by 2014.
The facelift is minor in terms of cosmetic addition, with the changes confined just to the front bumper and the headlamps. The inside will see a few more added features which are all currently available on the European spec car.
But the big news is the introduction of a new 1.5-litre diesel engine that will replace the 1.2-litre TDI found on the current Polo and the 1.6-litre TDI powering the Vento on the new Polo GT TDI. The new engine will come in two states of tune, 90PS and 105PS. The 90PS motor will power the next set of Polos, while the 105PS engines will the 2014 Polo GT TDI and the Vento.
The feature addition will definitely improve the Polo which will help it keep abreast with its competitors, while the more powerful diesel engines are always a boon and will lock horns with the 90PS engines from Fiat.
