Last month, Volkswagen India launched the facelifted Polo with prices starting at Rs 4.99 lakh for the base-spec variant. During the time of the launch, the German carmaker had announced that it will introduce facelifted versions of the Cross Polo, the GT TSI and the GT TDI by September this year. But according to a few reports, deliveries of the Polo GT TSI have commenced already.
Like the standard model, the Polo GT TSI facelift sports refreshing new design elements such as the restyled bumpers, headlamps, and the grille. Other upgrades include gloss black finish for the wing mirrors and the rear spoiler. Volkswagen, however, has decided to sell the new model with the same set of alloy wheels found on the old Polo GT TSI.
Inside, the new Polo GT TSI gets a flat bottom steering wheel, all-black interior and unique upholstery. The instrument panel, too, has been upgraded. What’s also carried over from the earlier Polo GT TSI is the brilliant 1.2-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine which develops 105bhp of power and 175Nm of torque. The engine is paired with Volkswagen’s 7-speed DSG dual clutch automatic gearbox.
The new Polo GT TSI is now on sale with ex-showroom prices starting at Rs 7.99 lakh. With its impressive power-train, sporty handling and a practical cabin, the Polo GT TSI facelift packs in a lot of appeal, just like the previous model.
