Volkswagen Polo and Vento may cost upto three per cent more

Volkswagen is likely to hike the price of its top selling models the Polo hatchback and the Vento sedan by one to three per cent.  According to report from PTI, a company spokesperson refused to comment on the move. However their sources in the company said the hike would happened soon. 

Volkswagen like Toyota, which is likely to hike its prices by 1.5 per cent in September, imports crucial components like the engine and gearbox for most of its models. It is believed that hike is in response to the falling value of the Rupee which is making importing a costly affair. 

However, with the holiday season just around the corner, it likely that the company will use this as a chance to make up some volumes and defer burdening the customer with cost of the hike.
