The Volkswagen Polo facelift and Vento facelift have been launched in India, with prices starting at Rs 5.82 lakhs and Rs 8.76 lakhs (ex-showroom). Compared to outgoing models, both the facelifted versions come with cosmetic updates and feature additions. Both the models are being offered in seven colour options including a new flash red paintjob.
Following are the top five features of the Volkswagen Vento facelift and Polo facelift:
1. 5-year warranty for diesel variants
Volkswagen has announced a standard warranty of five years for all diesel powered vehicles including the Polo Vento facelift. Since 1 January 2019, all Volkswagen models in India are offered with a standard warranty of four years or one lakh kms.
2. Updated fascia
Both, the Vento facelift as well as the Polo facelift receive an updated bumper with a honeycomb mesh grille. Both the models are also offered in the GT line trims that feature additional cosmetic updates in the form of a spoiler, side skirts, and blacked-out roof and ORVMs. The Highline Plus trim of the Vento is also equipped with LED headlamps.
3. Wide range of engine and transmission options
Engine options on the Volkswagen Polo facelift include a 1.0-litre petrol motor, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor and a 1.5-litre diesel motor. The 1.0-litre petrol engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission while the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine is mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is available in two states of tune and both are offered with a five-speed manual transmission.
The Volkswagen Vento facelift is available with three engine options including a 1.6-litre petrol unit, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit and a 1.5-litre diesel unit. The 1.6-litre petrol motor is offered with a five-speed manual transmission while the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor is mated to seven-speed DSG transmission. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is available with a five-speed manual transmission as well as a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
4. Interior feature updates
The Polo facelift and Vento facelift now come equipped with the company’s Volkswagen Connect, a connectivity suite that features trip tracker, trip sharing, driver behaviour and statistic tracking, fuel cost monitoring and service malfunction intimation to the dealer.
5. Safety features
The Volkswagen Vento and Polo facelift were already being offered with dual airbags and ABS as standard features. Additional feature highlights on both the models now include a seat belt reminder, speed alert system and rear parking sensors.
