-Body decals, leatherette seats and updated design for alloy wheels
Volkswagen has launched Cup Editions of the Polo, Ameo and Vento respectively. As the name suggests, they were brought out in time for the cricket world cup fever that will grip India from tomorrow onwards. They have undergone cosmetic updates both on the inside and outside and are based on the Comfortline variants with no change in price.
Exterior changes to these world cup edition comprise side decals, badging and, in the case of the Polo, a completely new design for the alloy wheels. In fact, the design of these alloy wheels is very similar to the one we have been seeing on the new generation Euro spec Polo. Inside, the cabin is furbished with black leatherette seats and Cup stitching on the inside. There have been no mechanical changes of any kind across all three cars and they are offered with the same petrol and diesel engines as their standard counterparts.
Commenting on the launch of the Cup Editions, Steffen Knapp, director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, “In India, cricket is not merely a sport, but a religion. It is the equivalent of soccer in Germany. World over, for Volkswagen, sport has played an integral part of our business. It not only brings in unity across the country but also displays passion, inspiration and excitement. Keeping this spirit in mind, we have launched the special Cup edition that showcases true sportsman spirit through its performance, power and precision across our product portfolio. We aim to reinstate the cheer and fun-to-drive experience among our customers this sports season.”
