Volkswagen India released pictures of an exclusive edition of their hatchback called the Polo AllStar on their official website. This special edition might only be available to celebrate the ongoing festive season and the launch is expected in the coming weeks.
As per the images available, the Polo AllStar gets some minor cosmetic changes which include a new blue silk body colour that is currently available on the Ameo. The other colours offered are flash red, candy white, toffee brown and reflex silver. It also gets a new 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. There is an AllStar badging on the B-pillar as well.
On the inside, there are rear air conditioning vents and front centre armrest, both of which are borrowed from the Vento. The car has new anthrazit fabric upholstery with a colour contrasting stripe running down the centre with a black and grey interior, aluminium finished foot pedals, and an inscribed AllStar badging on the scuff plates.
The AllStar edition brings in only the cosmetic changes, so mechanically the car will be powered by the regular Polo’s 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel making 74bhp and 89bhp respectively. Both will be mated to five-speed manual transmission.
The AllStar edition is expected to be based on the Polo Highline. Though no official prices are announced yet, the AllStar is expected to cost around Rs 20,000 – 40,000 more than the regular variant of Polo. The Polo AllStar will continue to rival the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz and the Hyundai Elite i20.
