The current B8 generation Volkswagen Passat arrived in mid-2014 and is over three years old now. Volkswagen has confirmed that the model will receive a facelift later this year.
The latest development is a confirmation from Dr. Herbert Diess, CEO, Volkswagen- “The redesigned Passat is on the starting blocks for Europe.” The facelifted Passat is expected to feature a refreshed front-end inspired by that of the VW Arteon. It could have a much larger radiator and air dam grille, reshaped headlamps with LED DRLs sitting flush with the radiator grille’s chrome slats, and a sleeker bumper. At the rear, changes may include tweaked tail lamps and a restyled bumper.
Volkswagen launched the B8 Passat in India around October last year. The flagship sedan comes in two trims – Comfortline and Highline with six colour options and a single powertrain. The latter is the same two-litre diesel motor that also powers the Skoda Superb and the Audi A4.
