Volkswagen has launched the new variants of the Jetta today at a price beginning at Rs 13.6 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi for the Trendline trim. The TSI will also be available in Comfortline trim at Rs 15.07 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. There is no top-end Highline trim for the petrol-powered variant.
The Jetta TSI gets a 120bhp, 200Nm 1.4-litre TSI engine that is new to the VW India stable. The power and torque figures aren't much behind the competition, but they won't offer class-leading performance like the Laura TSI does, either. It is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with no option for an automatic. All the other features that appear in the Jetta TDI's Trendline and Comfortline trims make an appearance in the TSI as well - leather upholstery, multi-function display, audio system, parking sensors, fog lamps, ABS, six airbags and rear AC vents.
