Volkswagen always had a keen eye on sports naming two of its famous models after Polo and Golf. In addition to this, VW has always been an active sponsor in one of the world's most famous sport - Football. With Volkswagen India’s plan to increase its popularity in India, the Chakan-based manufacturer recently got associated with cricket, a sport which is considered to be a religion in India. Volkswagen will be the on-ground sponsor for the fourth and fifth season of the Indian Premier League, which is viewed in over 118 countries.
Volkswagen India has introduced the IPL edition of the Vento. With this launch, Volkswagen brings the concept of action models into India. The Vento IPL Edition comes with a touch-screen multimedia player which has a built in navigation system, USB port, i-pod and Bluetooth connectivity. The other frills on this Vento include the leatherette seats with embroidered batsman motifs, IPL logo on the door sill, floor mats and on the exterior as well. This IPL Edition of the Vento will be available only with the regular 1.6-litre petrol engine and manual transmission.
The action model will be placed above the base model Trendline and will cost you Rs 7.24lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The IPL Edition Vento goes on sale in the first week of April and will be available at the 70 Volkswagen dealerships across 57 cities.
