In a bid to further expand Volkswagen Group's after-sales and spare parts setup in the country, Volkswagen India has announced that its second Part Distribution Centre (PDC) will be functional by the second quarter of 2015. The upcoming facility, located in Bangalore, will join VW’s exiting Gurgaon-based centre set up in 2012.
According to the brand, the new PDC falls under the ‘depot network development project’ and that it will help in building up a strong after-sales network in the southern region of India.
Volkswagen India is confident that the Bangalore centre will cut down on delivery time of genuine spare parts to authorised service stations of all the brands that fall under VW’s umbrella.
At present Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, Skoda and Volkswagen form the Volkswagen Group in India. The upcoming Bangalore facility will be seen catering to the dealer network for the current range of models sold by the five brands in India.
