Volkswagen India has plans to launch five products within 24 months; while the first of the products, the facelifted Vento, was launched yesterday, four more will be added to the range by end of 2016.
The company’s most famous brand, the Bettle will re-enter the Indian market at the end of the current calendar year. While the older version of the new Bettle didn’t find many takers, the sharper and bolder might hit the right chord with the Indian audience. The German manufacturer is currently in the process of developing a sub-four metre compact sedan which will be built on the Polo platform. We are expecting this car to debut at the 2016 Auto Expo, followed by a nation-wide launch in March.
The new and larger Passat will make its India entry in early 2016 that will be more than just a cosmetic upgrade. Volkswagen has also made its intention clear to bring the Tiguan to India in the late 2016, that will help the company enter the high-growth premium SUV segment. While the company is yet to reveal the next generation Tiguan, it has showed interest in assembling this SUV in India to take advantage of the taxation.
