Volkswagen India has put on hold the deliveries of its Polo range of cars to its customers. A picture had leaked earlier in the day of an official memo from the top management to all its dealers to stop physical deliveries of the hatchback (all variants) to its customers. Now the company has issued an official statement clarifying the same.
The statement reads, “Volkswagen India has confirmed a temporary hold on deliveries of its carline Polo due to a technical reason which is currently under evaluation. This concerns a limited number of cars out of a specific production period. Volkswagen further confirms that deliveries for the non-impacted Polo range will continue as per schedule. Volkswagen would like to clarify that the temporary hold on deliveries is not related to the ongoing EA 189 diesel engine topic.”
