The Indian subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group sees a change in the top-level management. Mahesh Kodumudi has been appointed as the Head of Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Limited replacing Gerasimos Dorizas, who was the Chief Representative of Volkswagen Group India and former Managing Director. Dorizas has given up his position citing personal reasons.
Kodumudi, President and Managing Director of Volkswagen India,is already in charge of the factory shop-floor and will take the additional responsibility for the German automaker. These changes in the management are said to be implemented with immediate effect.
The alterations in the management have been brought out when the company is not doing well on the sales front owing to the economic slowdown. Apart from the premium brands like Audi, Lamborghini and Porsche, the mass market brands, Volkswagen and Skoda have also seen a decrease in sales. However, this major reshuffle is expected to bring a positive and beneficial response for the company especially now when it is going through tough times in terms of sales.
