Volkswagen India has launched the new Vento TSI for Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). As expected, the executive sedan gets the 1.2-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine along with seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Vento TSI is based on the Highline trim and the only major change is the advance drivetrain that was first introduced in India with the Polo GT TSI. The engine is good to produce 105bhp and 175Nm – the power output is similar to that of the Vento petrol, but the displacement is a lot lower which has aided in improving the efficiency to 16.93kmpl.
Apart from the oily bits there are hardly any changes to the car. The few things that distinguish the Vento TSI are the new alloy-wheel s and chrome garnish to the boot-lid and fog lamps. It also gets all the safety features from the Highline trim including ESP, ABS and dual front airbags. The Vento TSI is available in all six colours that are standard across the lineup.
Commenting on the launch of the New Vento TSI, Mr. Arvind Saxena, Managing Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd said, “With the new Vento TSI, Volkswagen takes the lead with producing cars that are high-tech, powerful and fuel-efficient. With a turbocharged petrol engine and 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, the Vento TSI provides excellent performance and fuel economy. With its class-leading build quality and high levels of fit and finish, the Vento TSI will be the car of choice for discerning buyers.”
