The Volkswagen Group, it seems, has had a stellar sales run so far this year. According to the latest sales numbers, the company has delivered over 9 million vehicles from January to November for the first time ever, this year.
The performance marks a 4.6 per cent improvement in sales in comparison to the same period last year where the group shipped 8.68 million vehicles worldwide. “Deliveries by the Volkswagen Group remain on track during the last few weeks of the year. The ten million mark is within reach in spite of all the uncertainties in the global automotive sector,” Christian Klingler, Group Board Member for Sales, said.
The Group brands including Volkswagen, Skoda, Porsche, Audi and Seat, delivered a total of 3.55 million vehicles to customers on the overall European market in the period to November. Meanwhile, 807,700 vehicles were handed over to customers in the North America region, of which 542,600 units were sold in the United States.
While we do not have the groups’ India development prospects just yet, some of the brands such as Audi and Skoda have been doing well in the Indian market lately. Volkswagen itself is celebrating its seventh anniversary of its India operations. The company, in fact, is currently offering attractive options and exchange benefits on select range of models.
