- The newer models include India-bound vehicles as well.
- The list includes Audi Q3 Sportback, Bentley Flying Spur, and Porsche Cayenne Coupe
- An unnamed Volkswagen-badged five-seat crossover is also part of the plan.
At the 2018 Annual Conference in Wolfsburg, the Volkswagen Group confirmed the arrival of at least six all new products in 2019. The list of new models includes Porsche Cayenne Coupe, Audi Q3 Sportback (Q4) and an all-new B-Segment Volkswagen SUV.
The new-gen Bentley Flying Spur is also due this year. And, although it is not mentioned in the graph, the eight-generation Golf is also arriving towards the end of 2019. Moreover, for the Chinese market, the electric version of the Bora and Lavida sedans are planned as well.
Of the 90 product launches this year, Volkswagen Group has already revealed the VW T-Cross, Skoda Scala, Skoda Kamiq, 992-gen Porsche 911 and the Seat Terraco. Of which, all the vehicles are India bound, except the Seat. The all-new Porsche Taycan is also ready to be showcased to the world, and it might happen in a few weeks’ time. The Cayenne Coupe – exclusively spotted by our spy sleuths – is expected to join it as well.
Meanwhile, on the electric front, the German giant plans to have around 15 new MEB based all-electric vehicles by 2025. This list would include everything from Porsche Taycan and its Cross Turismo version, Audi e-tron GT, e-tron and its Sportback version to smaller cars like Volkswagen Buzz, Vizzion, Crozz and ID hatchback, and the Skoda Vision E. The carmaker forecasts that 70 per cent of the vehicles in the European market will be battery-electric by 2040. And the remaining 10-20 per cent will be plug-in hybrids with the conventional engines fed by fuels made from renewable energy sources.
As far as India 2.0 is concerned, the India-spec vehicles like the Kamiq and T-Cross are expected to start arriving only post 2020. These new vehicles will be based on VW’s MQB A0 IN platform specially developed for the Indian market. And Audi will spearhead the premium segment with the e-tron SUV which is expected to arrive even earlier.
