While we were discussing the possibility of the Cross Polo launch this week, Volkswagen has dropped us mail announcing the price and other details of the new car. The new Cross Polo with brawny and bolder looks has been priced at Rs 7.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) – close to Rs 60,000 more than the tag price of Polo Highline TDI.
Based on the Polo hatchback, the new car flaunts bigger bumpers, black body cladding and silver roof rails that make the car look rugged and more aggressive. There are few other changes to the exterior detailing like the silver painted ORVMs and a new set of alloy-wheels. The interiors of the Cross Polo are similar to that of the top-end hatchback – all-black Livon upholstery and leather wraps for steering, gear-knob with chrome inserts.
The equipment list of the Cross Polo is based on the VW Highline trim and features like Climatronic AC, 2-Din music system with USB/AUX-in, SD-card slot, Bluetooth connectivity, rear parking sensors, ABS and front airbags are standard.
Like we said before, the Cross Polo is available only in one variant with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The sales of the Volkswagen Cross Polo will commence on August 23 and it will be available in three colours – Flash Red, Reflex Silver and Deep Black Pearl.
