Volkswagen India has recently launched the Crest editions of the Polo hatchback, Ameo compact sedan and Vento sedan. Ardent VW fans should find interest in the Crest Collection that holds a little bit of history. It carries a legacy dating back to 1945, when every car under the collection was bestowed with the 'Crest' badge. The following picture gallery will give you an in-depth detail of the collection.
This Crest badge was first seen on the Beetle manufactured shortly after the World War II in 1945 in Wolfsburg, Germany.
Coming to the Crest edition models now available in India, all cars are offered in white body colour with a contrasting matte black roof.
The main highlight of the Crest edition is the 'Wolfsburg' badge on the C-pillar. The badge depicts a castle and the Aller River with a wolf.
In addition, the special edition Vento gets a black boot-mounted spoiler and the Polo boasts of a black roof-mounted spoiler.
There is a side decal on the cars apart from the gloss black tail garnish on the Polo and the Ameo. These small cosmetic bits add to the exclusivity of the car.
Furthermore, the carmaker is offering leather seat covers with the Wolfsburg crest embossed and diamond quilted stitching. These are essentially to add to the car cabin’s appeal.
This special edition also gets detachable sunroof blinds, which will be provided through dealerships as a part of the Crest edition package.
All the three Crest edition models come with exclusive textile mats and a door step garnish. The front centre armrest is a standard part of this equipment.
The Ameo Crest edition costs an additional Rs 21,000-25,000, while the Polo Crest edition is costlier by Rs 16,000 as against its regular version. Then the Vento Crest edition costs Rs 30,000 more.
