The current VW Polo GTI is a quick little hatch. With 200bhp on tap from the 2-litre turbo four engine, the hot hatch can sprint to 100kmph in just 6.7 seconds and go on to hit a very impressive 237kmph top speed. But according to VW, the Polo was developed to offer a lot more thanks to its very capable chassis. Hotter, track-spec performance versions are the norm these days and we don’t think a Polo R with all wheel drive will be out of place.
VW could also get a Performance edition which will be on the same lines of the bigger Golf GTI Performance apart from getting the hardcore R model. With VW planning an electric onslaught, one can expect a hybrid performance version too. We love the Polo GTI and a hotter performance version is sure to make us love it a lot more!
