The Volkswagen brand sold 6845 vehicles in the month of September 2011, a growth of 39 percent over 4,663 vehicles sold in September 2010. Despite the sluggish market, the Polo and the Vento continue to bring in the numbers for the brand with a total of 6335 units sold in September 2011. The recently launched New Jetta also saw an impressive response from customers with 423 units sold last month. Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of Board & Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said “Despite the low sentiment and slowdown in the market, we are happy to achieve the positive growth. This showcases our offers for customers including the Polo and Vento Breeze action models have been well accepted.”
